“Blue Man”, 2007, 15×11 inches, engraved copper plate
The 27th Annual Art for AIDS, San Francisco’s exclusive art event, benefits the UCSF Alliance Health Project, presenting contemporary and modern art donated by artists, galleries, and collectors around the country. New fantastic UCSF Pritzker Building venue with VIP admissions. My donated piece, “Blue Man” is an image of a neo-cubist man printed from a copperplate engraving. The plate has been printed in both pink and blue versions as a reflection on gender, its spectrum, its personal aspects (realization, identification), its social and political aspects (assignment, recognition, whether it is accepted or not).
